Buying construction equipment parts can get expensive – that is no secret.  What many in our industry don’t realize, though, is that used parts are very often just as effective as new ones. The perception of many equipment owners is that used construction parts are no longer usable – and that’s just not true!

There are tons of reasons to buy used parts vs. new parts. We’ve highlighted three of the most important reasons here.

Maneuverability. Versatility. Productivity. Durability.

These are all common words used to describe the quality and capabilities of Woods Equipment. They’ve now taken those words to a new level with a brand new product launch: the Woods Compact Super Seeder.

The Woods Super Seeder was recently launched in two models (which you can read all about below): the CSS48 and CSS60. It will immediately become your go-to machine for cultivation and planting. You’ll have the ability to prep the soil, drop the seeds at two different depths, and firm the soil – all at one shot.  It was also designed to be compatible with tractors, ATVs, and UTVs – so this machine is equipped for just about any seeding job.

In our last blog post, I mentioned how some farmers are now required to sign End User License Agreements (ELUA) to operate their machinery. Manufacturers like Caterpillar, John Deere, and Case argue that the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) gives them the right to lock down their equipment.  In other words, Caterpillar believes that they still own their excavators – the contractor is just allowed to use it for a period of time.

So, what is the DMCA, and why must farmers fight back?

Farmers and other consumers are starting to fight back on the right to repair their own equipment.  It is their belief that, if they have the ability to make a repair on their own, they should have the right to do so – and thus, these repairs would come cheaper and more quickly.
