Case-International Harvester (CIH) tractors are some of the most iconic agricultural machines in history. The company was formed in 1985 after the merger of J.I. Case and the International Harvester Company. The merger created a company that was second only to John Deere in terms of size and market share. J.I. Case was founded in 1842 by Jerome Increase Case in Racine, Wisconsin. The company initially produced threshing machines and other agricultural equipment. This feature made the tractor more stable and easier to maneuver.

In 1985, J.I. Case and International Harvester Company merged to form Case-International Harvester (CIH). The merger created a company with a wide range of products, including tractors, combines, construction equipment, and trucks.
